Psychotherapy

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment process that involves talking with a trained mental health professional to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It aims to help individuals gain insight, develop coping strategies, and improve their overall emotional well-being.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are led by my clients and I can support to find focus, if that is helpful. I believe it is important for the client to lead the session so that they can be free to explore what they would like to explore. Some clients find this daunting at first, but ultimately it helps to build trust and self-worth that they are able to speak about what they are able to speak about.
We can discuss how to use sessions when we first meet including any concerns you have about starting therapy. The most important thing to remember, is that the client is in control.
What is psychotherapy used for?
Psychotherapy addresses various issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, neurodivergence and trauma.
Can psychotherapy help me?
I have supported hundreds of clients to explore and resolve their distress. If you are interested in seeing if psychotherapy can help you with your difficulty, please get in touch.
